What a great week for our Royal Family!
Last Saturday, 21st April saw Queen Elizabeth celebrate her (actual) birthday with a right Royal star-studded bash at the Royal Albert Hall. The event featured Sting, Kylie Minogue and Tom Jones to name just 3 performers on stage – a truly great night of song and dance to celebrate Her Majesty’s 92nd birthday in style!
The dust on that had hardly settled when it was announced on Monday (St.George’s Day) that the Duchess of Cambridge had given birth to a baby boy – and fifth in line to the throne. He is the Royal couple’s 3rd child. The wait is over and the guessing game as to what the youngest Prince has ended with the announcement that he will be called “Louis Arthur Charles” and be known as “His Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge”. My guess was “Philip”.
The Royal focus moves to Prince Harry over the coming weeks as his “big day” approcahes when he is to marry Meghan Markle on Saturday 19th May. It looks like a “wedding for the people” but I guess there will be much pomp and ceremony – difficult to dodge that when you are a Royal! Interesting guest list by all accounts with many “names” missing – it is their wedding after all. I hope those not invited understand the reasoning. I guess the population and many worldwide, will be glued to their TVs – they are up against the FA Cup final which is around 5pm so they have all afternoon to capture the ratings and avoid a clash!
We wish them all the very best for their future.
