We spent the afternoon in Dartmouth, home to our Seated Titles on Wednesday. One can never tire of wandering the streets looking at the ancient buildings and beautiful views up the river and out towards the mouth of the River Dart.
Of course the amazing weather we have been enjoying always helps anywhere look at it’s best! The inner “harbour” / Boat Float is a really delightful fetaure for the town – especially when the tide is in.
Set in the hill overlooking the town and river is the Britannia Royal Naval College where a young Princess Elizabeth (aged 13) first met Philip – who was to become her husband. Read more about the Royal Connections.
Look at this spectacular building overlooking the river with the “Station” now home to a delightful riverside cafe.
As most of the UK start the summer holidays this weekend a trip to the Westcountry is always great fun. If you have never visited the area it really is a great destination set in the heart of the “South Hams” of South Devon. You can learn more at Discover Dartmouth.
